Dr. Laura Johannessen
Dr. Laura Johannessen graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. She then completed an internship at San Luis Rey Equine Hospital and continued working in the equine field for the first 5 years of her career. She then made the switch to small animal medicine when she moved from an equine ambulatory position in Hamilton, MT to a small animal practice in Santa Cruz, California. In 2012, along with her husband, purchased Westside Animal Hospital and moved to Casper, WY. For the last 7+ years they have been co-owners and have together developed WAH into a top-notch family-oriented practice all while raising 3 daughters.
Staff
Ashlee Patricelli
Ashlee is a native of Casper, born and raised. She became part of the Westside family in January 2016. She has worked in the veterinary field since she was 15 when she started as a kennel technician. You may see her welcoming face or speak to her friendly voice on the phone as she is in our leader in the reception area.
Devon Hendrickson
Devon Hendrickson joined our Westside Animal Hospital team in December 2019. She moved to Casper from Price, UT, but has spent a lot of time growing up in southwest Wyoming. She is currently enrolled in a Veterinary Technology program through San Juan College to become a licensed Veterinary Technician. Devon's role at Westside is varied with dental cleanings, blood draws, IV catheter placements, and surgical prep and monitoring; however, you may also see her answering phones and seeing technician rooms.
Alex Lewis
Alex Lewis joined our Westside Animal Hospital team in the fall of 2019. Originally from Colorado, her family's farm is in Pine Bluffs so she spent a lot of time here in Wyoming growing up. She has a bachelors degree in Animal Science from the University of Wyoming. She has worked a variety of jobs within the field, including at a groomer, shelter, and other veterinary clinics. Alex's role at Westside is primarily in the surgical area including dental cleanings, blood draws, IV catheter placement, surgical prep, monitoring, and recovery.
