Dr. Laura Johannessen
Dr. Laura Johannessen graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. She then completed an internship at San Luis Rey Equine Hospital and continued working in the equine field for the first 5 years of her career. She then made the switch to small animal medicine when she moved from an equine ambulatory position in Hamilton, MT to a small animal practice in Santa Cruz, California. In 2012, along with her husband, purchased Westside Animal Hospital and moved to Casper, WY. For the last 7+ years they have been co-owners and have together developed WAH into a top-notch family-oriented practice all while raising 3 daughters.
Ashlee is a native of Casper, born and raised. She became part of the Westside family in January 2016. She has worked in the veterinary field since she was 15 when she started as a kennel technician. You may see her welcoming face or speak to her friendly voice on the phone as she is in our leader in the reception area.
Devon Hendrickson joined our Westside Animal Hospital team in December 2019. She moved to Casper from Price, UT, but has spent a lot of time growing up in southwest Wyoming. She is currently enrolled in a Veterinary Technology program through San Juan College to become a licensed Veterinary Technician. Devon's role at Westside is varied with dental cleanings, blood draws, IV catheter placements, and surgical prep and monitoring; however, you may also see her answering phones and seeing technician rooms.
Mackenzie joined our Westside team in 2021 as a veterinary assistant.
She enjoys spending time outdoors with her boyfriend and their 2 dogs; Ollie and Rusty. She loves to be at the lake with family, on the river fishing or going for hikes on the mountain. She is enrolled in Casper college getting her general studies done and then plans to pursue a degree in veterinary science. Her role at Westside is versatile as she can be seen answering phones, assisting with animal exams, trimming toenails, or checking patients out at the end of their appointment.
